This Thursday on November 10th the students of Moving Image – Year 1 will present the results of experiments they conducted during the course (De)constructing the Apparatus of Looking.

Questioning the idea of photography as a window to a reality beyond the camera is the underlying theme of this course. We are so used to understand the world through photography that we often forget the inherent ambiguities of the lens-based image. With a series of practical experiments the students explored the visual representation of space through different empirical and scientific methods as well as artistic concepts. They investigated the precise role of looking and discussed alternative ways of image-making that escape the fixed program of the photographic apparatus.

The presentation will open on Thursday Nov. 10th from 15.30 – 16.30 hrs and will be on view up to Open Day on Nov. 19th.

Be welcome!
